Cost and Registration
Individuals interested in participating in the workshop should apply following the directions below. While we would like to accommodate all applicants, we will be limiting class sizes to 25 participants per module to provide a manageable environment during practical lab sessions. At least 20 spots in each module will be reserved for UBC graduate students and the remaining seats will be given to non-students and students from other institutions. Individuals will be selected based on their justification for how this workshop will benefit their research/development as a scientist (see below). Nevertheless, we encourage all individuals interested to apply.
NOTE: We recommend applying for all five modules, but we will prioritize those who express particular interest in particular module(s).
The Workshop is subsidized through funding from many departments/institutions at UBC (see our Sponsors page). However, we will require a small registration fee for successful applicants to cover some expenses. Coffee and light snacks will be provided for participants each day of the workshop.
Registration costs (per person):
Introduction (3 days) - $20
Remote sensing (1 day) - $10
Spatial statistics (3 days) - $20
Species distribution modelling (3-4 days) - $20
Landscape connectivity & reserve design (2 days) - $15
FOUR OR FIVE MODULES - $60
